Rite Aid explained

by Give Me Neither on June 25, 2009

I’m hoping to break down my June shopping trips at Rite Aid to help you understand how the Single Rebate Checks (SCR) work. Each month Rite Aid puts out a book full of the rebates for the month. Many of the rebates last the entire month and there are others that are only good a particular week or two. It’s important to buy the exact item listed including the correct size or you won’t get your rebate. You also have to make sure to buy it within the dates listed.

Once you buy your items, the easiest way to enter your rebates is online. Go over here to sign up and enter the info from your receipt. Once you enter your receipts, it takes a few days for them to process your receipt and then the rebates that you qualify for show up under your account. When you are finished purchasing items for the month, you need to go back into your account and request your rebate check. You can only request one check per month, so make sure you wait until you are done shopping for that month.

One particular item may work for a couple or more different rebates. People refer this as double or triple dipping. This month was a great month to do that. So here is what I bought this month. I color coded the products that worked for multiple rebates.

SCR #6 John Frieda
John Frieda Volume Root Lift 6.77 oz. $4.99-$1 MQ=$3.99
John Frieda Sheer Blonde Clear Hair spray $4.99
John Frieda Rt Awake Shampoo $5.99-$3 MQ=$2.99

  • This qualified me for a $5 rebate.

SCR #40 Johnson and Johnson Travel Savings $10 wyb $25
3 Reach Advantage Value Pack Toothbrushes $8.97
Aveeno Continuous Spray Sunblock $10.99
Aveeno Positively Ageless Spray $5.49

  • This qualified me for a $10 rebate

SCR #47 Aveeno Skin Care $5
Aveeno Daily Moisturizer Lotion 2.5 oz $1.74
Aveeno Continuous Spray Sunblock $10.99
Aveeno Positively Ageless Spray $5.49

  • This qualifies me for a $5 rebate.

SCR #87 J&J 100 reasons to smile
3 Reach Advantage Value Pack Toothbrushes $8.97

  • This qualifies me for a $5 rebate

SCR #82 St Ives Body Polish
St. Ives Body Polish 8 oz. $7.99

  • This qualified me for a $3 rebate

SCR #100 Crest Pro-Health
Crest Pro Health Enamel Shield $2.69

  • This qualified me for a $2.69 rebate

SCR #500 Skin Care Tote
Aveeno Daily Moisturizer Lotion 2.5 oz $1.74
Aveeno Continuous Spray Sunblock $10.99
Aveeno Positively Ageless Spray $5.49
St. Ives Body Polish 8 oz. $7.99

I also bought
Colgate total whitening toothpaste 4.2 oz. $1.88-$2 worth of coupons=FREE
And a roll of breathsavers as a filler 88 cents

I used $14.50 worth of manufacturer coupons.
and 2 $5/$25 Rite Aid coupons in two different trips

Without coupons and rebates, I would have spent $56.60.
After coupons oop is $32.16
I’ll receive $30.69 back in rebates and the skin care tote
So my total out of pocket with be $1.47.
That’s a saving of $55.13!

These are pictures of what I bought. I ended up returning the St Ives moisturizer in the 2nd picture and I bought the St Ives body polish (pictured in the 1st picture) instead.

I hope this helps you better understand Rite Aid and doesn’t confuse you more. If you have questions post them in the comments or e-mail me at givemeneither@gmail.com.
