My favorite holiday tradition is when my father read Twas the Night Before Christmas to us on Christmas Eve. He now reads it to my boys.
We start Christmas music right after Halloween, bake tons and then a week before Christmas we gather it all together, wrap it and take it to neighbors, friends and family
My favorite Christmas traditions just started since my daughter passed away two years ago. (so this will be the third Christmas) I go and buy a present for 1-2 children off the Angel Tree and put from my daughters name. I also have helped deliever food at the food pantry to families for Christmas. Both traditions have helped me through some of the rough patches at Christmastime without my daughter. It also brings joy and happiness to people who may not have had it at the time.
One of my ‘new’ fav holiday traditions (adopted from my DH’s side) is to fill out the gift tags as being from famous people. In the past, my DH has “received” presents from the president of the U.S., sports celebrities and cartoon characters. It’s fun to see this side of the family get creative with the ‘senders’ of the gifts!
One of my favorite Christmas traditions is attending a candlelight Christmas Eve worship service to celebrate the birth of Christ.
Santa used to decorate our Christmas tree on Christmas Eve after we went to bed, so we woke up with all wonderfully done, after going to bed with a plain tree. We really believed Santa did it when we were kids!
