christmas in the kitchen series

Again I’m joining with 5 other bloggers for a 2 week Christmas in the Kitchen Series.  Just a fun way to inspire us to get in the kitchen with our families over the holidays and make something yummy to eat.  This is the final week of the kitchen inspired giveaways.

I LOVE anything with almond paste in it.  It’s wonderful in a crumb topping on an apple pie.  Yummy.  Here’s a recipe that I love to make because it’s so easy and it reminds me of banket.

Lazy Banket

1/2 lb. almond paste
2 sticks of butter
2 eggs
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour

All ingredients should be at room temperature.  Cream almond, butter, eggs, add sugar one cup at a time.  Add flour, one cup at a time.  Mix well.  Grease a 9×13 pan.  Spread into pan.  Bake at 45 minutes at 300 degrees.  Cut into squares while still warm.  Enjoy!

On to the giveaway.  I’m excited about this one.

You’ll want to make sure to head over to the other blogs to check out their giveaways and for more holiday inspiration.  I’ll update the list as they post their giveaway.

My giveway this week is a matching set of aprons sewn by me with my favorite fabrics by Amy Butler.  I didn’t add pockets to the aprons, because I personally don’t use one.  The winner will be able to decide if they’d like pockets added.

Those are adorable aprons!!

My favorite cookbook would be one with lots of pictures. LOTS. :) I have a chocolate recipe book put back in my HopeChest with pictures for every recipe. Combining that with the fact that it’s a CHOCOLATE recipe book, it’d have to be a favorite. :) (But I can’t remember the name of it!)

Thanks! :)

My favorite cookbook is one that my mom made for me. The cookbook includes recipes that have been passed down for generations. There are also recipes for my favorite dishes made my mom. Of course mine don’t taste near as good as when she makes it.
