I love baby carriers!  I wish I had some of the carriers that I have now when I had my 1st who was colicky.  I haven’t tried a ring sling yet, but thought I’d let you know about this great deal anyway.

I don’t have this exact brand, though I’ve heard great things about them. I used my sling a lot when Jack was a newborn. It also works great with an older baby/toddler to let them ride on your hip.  I’m using it a lot again now that he’s one.  I just pop him in it when we have a quick stop at a store.

Jennie’s comment about the DIY nursing cover reminded me that I wanted to let you know about DIY instructions for baby carriers.  I discovered the new world of baby carriers with my 2nd little guy (aside from Baby Bjorn).  There are so many really comfortable carriers to use that would have been wonderful with my colicky 1st born.

Here’s the tutorial for a scandi mei tai.  I’ve made one of these for myself and a few more as gifts for friends.  This is a wonderful tutorial.  I made all of mine reversible.  I used Nufoam for the padding.

DIY Baby Pouch

Here’s a pattern that I used for a baby pouch.  I bought a fleece Karma baby pouch which I loved in the winter.  I wanted more breathable one for summertime, so I made one.  This works great for a little baby, but also for a toddler that loves to be held while making dinner.
