Surveys

If you like sharing your opinion about things and earning cash, gift cards to Amazon, restaurants, and other prizes while doing it, then I hope to teach you a little about the survey opportunities available online.  A couple years ago I tried a few survey sites and got frustrated because it was never making enough to actually request a check.  Over the past year, I’ve been able to find reputable survey sites that I’ve actually earned gift cards and cash through.

My husband and I go out on a date each week and every little bit that I earn from doing this helps out.  Gift cards for restaurants, cash for the babysitter.  You could start putting a little money away for Christmas 2010.

I just ordered Wii Sports Resort for FREE on Amazon with credits that I’ve earned through surveys and Swagbucks.

Here are the survey companies that I’ve been using so far.  One key to these companies is to fill out as much of your profile as you can.  It allows them to match you with surveys that you’ll qualify to take and in turn earn you more money/gift cards.

Toluna Opinions

Earn $1-$5 each time you qualify and take surveys. Test products for free and share your opinions! Plus you will get an entry for a $2,500 sweepstakes when you register!

Within the 1st couple of weeks, I was already invited to test a product for them and complete a survey about it.

SurveyHead

You actually earn dollars for taking surveys.  You’ll get $5 just for signing up and when you accumulate $25 you’ll get paid.  Sign up for Survey Head.

LightSpeed Consumer’s Panel

I’ve been impressed with Lightspeed Consumer’s Panel. In my 1st week, I’ve was able to get 375 points by taking 3 surveys.

You only need 550 points to get a $5 gift card to restaurants, including On The Border, Applebees, Chili’s and a bunch of others. Another option is to get a $5 Amazon.com e-certificate. There are so many different options for cashing in your points. I’m planning to get gift cards to use on our weekly date night. Sign up for LightSpeed Consumer’s Panel.

Opinion Outpost

Earn points to redeem for money or amazon.com gift cards.  50 points = $5.  Also refer a friend and once they complete their 1st survey, you’ll receive 20 points = $2!    Sign up for Opinion Outpost.

I’ve earned over $38 so far.  Yay!

Ipsos I-Say Panel

Complete surveys and earn points that you’ll be able to trade in for gift cards.  Sign up for Ipsos I-Say Panel.

{Other Ways to Earn}

Swagbucks

Swagbucks are digital dollars that you earn by searching the web, and shopping at your favorite online stores. It’s FREE, easy, and fun.  I just use it instead of google and earn Swagbucks while I search the web.  I even head to my own blog through their search engine.  Amazon $5 gift card are only 450 swagbucks.

Plus when you refer a friend, you’ll earn Swagbucks when they earn Swagbucks for their 1st 1000.  This adds up fast.  Remember that 1000 Swagbucks is enough to buy $10 in Amazon gift cards.  A great way to earn money for Christmas presents for 2010.

MyPoints

Here’s another easy way to rake up points that will earn you gift cards.  You’ll earn points from shopping online and reading bonus e-mails (my favorite).  1550 points will earn you a $10 gift card to a bunch of different restaurants such as Applebees, Fridays, Red Robin, Olive Garden, or Red Lobster.

  1. Go to MyPoints by clicking on the logo.
  2. You’ll receive 100 points just for signing up.
  3. After you sign up you’ll want to go into your account (click on “my account” in upper right side).
  4. Scroll down to the bottom and one the right click “manage e-mail subscriptions”.
  5. Subscribe to bonus mail.

When you start receiving the e-mails, you’ll see something similar to this along the top of the e-mail.

I’ve earned a $10 Olive Garden gift card so far.

Thanks for the great info! You probably want to update the Swagbucks info since they updated it on their birthday. :)

Thank you so much for your blog, I love it. I do have a question about all these free money options, though. I have been happy with my Swagbucks and MyPoints accounts, but I am hesitant to enroll on the survey websites. How do you know they are secure? What precautions would you advise people to take? Have you ever run into any privacy or spam problems because of your enrollment? I would love the extra cash, but want to make sure I know what I am getting into before I enroll.

Thanks Melissa!

I have a email that I use just for surveys and other freebie offers. I’ve even thought about getting one just for surveys. I use a free gmail account. There are definitely spammy survey sites out there. These sites are ones that I’ve been very happy with. So the biggest thing is to sign up with reputable sites and use a designated email address.
I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
